Hi A + B Hörnchens
I know this tree from the Trompenburg Arboretum. By compairing my pic with the one from Txerri one will see that the tree from Trompenburg has larger leaves.
Local conditions??
hm....I guess...somewhere between H- and Khörnchen

Q. faginea is quite variable.
Even several images of totally different plants can not show all the variability.
e.g.; browse the list for some images to have an idea (also see the scale of 1 cm):

Your image, Tom shows strong shoot, this is always difficult when compared with adult growth to judge if it belongs to a certain taxon.
