I think following species can come in consideration: Cotoneaster horizontalis (but lamina < 1,2) Cotoneaster atropurpureus (but lamina < 1,4) Cotoneaster ascendens (but lamina <1,5) Cotoneaster nitidus (but flowers solitary and lamina to 1,3) So perhaps : Cotoneaster hjelmqvistii ???

there are no real other possibilities in this case it is Quercus rubra , but the leaf that is shown does not look typical but, like I would like to explain there is a possibility of "poor quality in part of the trees we name Quercus rubra ", perhaps there is some introgression of other species like ...

This is a Quercus rubra . If you look at the difference in shape of all the leaves under the tree you will find others with less deep lobes and or with more lobes. at least, I think,
you can say it is Skimmia japonica
with it reddish petioles.

The following features (IF consequent for whole shrub) are speaking for subsp. japonica:

often, rounded apex
number of secondary veins
flowers frequently in 4s
