a character for Tsuga canadensis is that often small leaves with exposed stomata ar present, and this is the case here

on my daily 'birdwatching tour' I regularly see a kingfisher

they indeed fly away quickly, but you can easily recognize them by their straight, fast flight and metallic blue color

in the photo it may be a male, as the beak is completely black (partially orange lower beak on female)
